US lawyer accuses Russian authorities of illegal arrest of basketball player Brittney Greiner
American lawyer Jonathan Frank believes that US basketball player Brittney Griner was illegally detained and arrested in Moscow. It is reported by TMZ.
Frank represented the interests of relatives of US citizen Trevor Reed, who was sentenced in Russia to nine years in prison. The lawyer accused the Russian authorities of fabricating evidence against the basketball player.
Frank connected the stories of Reed and Greiner, but an American student convicted in the summer of 2020 is serving time for assaulting police officers. The basketball player was arrested on charges of drug smuggling. She was detained at Sheremetyevo Airport.
