Faced with the collapse of the ticket sales website for the match between the Ecuador and Argentina teams, corresponding to the last day of the South American qualifying round for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) made the decision to carry out the physical sale of tickets from Monday, March 14 at three points in the city of Guayaquil.
The FEF and the company SuperTicket, which provides the service to the entity for sale on-line of tickets, last Monday they justified that the large influx of buyers in a short period of time left the system momentarily inoperative, for which the FEF and the company had to issue statements to apologize for the technical problems and announce that the sale was closed. It will resume once these problems are resolved, estimating that this Wednesday the problems would already be resolved.
Hundreds of fans showed their discomfort on the social network Twitter, as many tried to register from 00:00 on Monday and were unsuccessful. Their attempts to get their tickets even this Wednesday led them to insist on the FEF website without achieving the task. A user told EL UNIVERSO that he saw that the site apparently works, “but when paying, an error appears.”
This day the FEF reported “the confirmation of the technology provider for the online ticket sale of the Ecuador vs. Argentina, if unable to meet the great demand from fans”, therefore, decided to market the tickets in person from Monday, from 08:30 to 17:00.
The match is scheduled to be played on March 29 at the Monumental Banco Pichincha stadium, and the Tricolor fans hope to celebrate qualifying for the next World Cup in that match.
Located in a comfortable third place with 25 points, the Ecuadorian team could even reach the meeting with Argentina with its direct quota guaranteed for Qatar 2022 if it wins in the previous meeting with Paraguay in Asunción.
The authorized points of sale, according to the FEF, are the following:
- Ticket offices for the Alberto Spencer Model Stadium and the Voltaire Paladines Polo Coliseum (to buy seats for the general, grandstand and box).
- Monumental Stadium Administration Office (for box and suite owner and additional), except on Tuesday, March 15, because Barcelona SC has an agreed match with América Mineiro, within the framework of phase 3 of the Copa Libertadores
- FEF headquarters building. This option is exclusively for seniors or people with special abilities
Additionally, the FEF indicated that a maximum of four tickets per person will be sold.
