The irregular numbers that Ronald Koeman left during his time as coach of FC Barcelona

The Dutch coach only achieved 65.3% of league points and lost to almost all the big teams in Europe.

Ronald Koeman was fired from FC Barcelona after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano and left in its wake a series of unfavorable numbers for a coach who runs one of the best clubs in the world, including a 65.3% points achieved in the league since their arrival, the poor results against big teams (they only beat Juventus in Turin) and that this course have yet to achieve any away victories.

Since the Dutch coach arrived on the Barça bench in August 2020, Barça achieved 94 points out of 144 possible in the League (65.3%), which only served to finish third in the classification in the 2020-2021 academic year and to occupy the ninth place in the current one after 10 games played.

The percentage is even lower if only the two starts of the regular competition that Koeman faced as a Barça coach are counted: Barça now has 15 out of 30 possible points (50%) and last season at this point he still accumulated less, with 14 (46,7%).

The big part of the fault that the numbers of the current start of the season are so bad It is from the away games, in which Barça has not yet managed to win after having played five. In addition to the 1-0 defeat against Rayo Vallecano, the other suffered away from home in the League, against Atlético de Madrid 2-0, and the debacle against Benfica in the Champions League, 3-0 at the Stadium gives Light.

In addition, in the domestic competition they drew 1-1 against Athletic Club and 0-0 against Cádiz as a visitor. The visit to Sevilla is still pending, which was postponed due to commitments with the national teams.

And if that was not enough, in the 13 games that Barça have played so far this course between the League and the Champions League, add more so many against than in favor. The Barça goal has received 17 and 16 have been held.

During his year and two months on the Barça bench, Koeman has only been able to win one match out of all those he has played against the great teams of Europe and the League, being only against Juventus of Turin by 0-2, precisely on October 28, 2020 in the group stage of the Champions League.

Lost all three games against Real Madrid (1-3 and 1-2 at the Camp Nou and 2-1 at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium); fell twice to Atlético de Madrid and drew another (1-0 and 2-0 at Wanda Metropolitano and 0-0 at home); lost to Paris Saint-Germain at Camp Nou (1-4) and tied at the Parc des Princes (1-1); and he also fell into the Barça fiefdom against Juventus (0-3) and Bayern Munich (0-3).

These numbers have led President Joan Laporta to make the decision to dismiss Ronald Koeman, being the first coach to fire in the two terms in which he has been in charge of FC Barcelona. In his previous stage (2003-2010), Frank Rijkaard left in 2008 when his contract ended and Pep Guardiola remained on the Barça bench until 2012. (D)
