WADA urged to continue testing Russians for doping

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) urged to continue testing Russians for doping. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Athletes will be tested both in Russia and abroad. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has confirmed the ability to timely deliver doping samples to accredited laboratories in Europe.

Also, Russian athletes should continue to provide information about their whereabouts. It is noted that the decision was made in order to preserve the integrity of the global anti-doping system as much as possible, taking into account the circumstances.

At the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, the banned substance trimetazidine was found in a doping test of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. The International Olympic Committee and WADA sought to remove the athlete, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed the Russian woman to compete, where she took fourth place.
