Russian troops have been attacking for several days now. Thousands of frightened people seek refuge in cellars, shelters or try to flee the country. One of the most attacked cities is Kharkiv. The army regularly shells the city. In an interview, the shocking report was given by Dmytro Teriomenko, who comes from.
A shocking account of the Ukrainian volleyball player. “My wife has been hiding in the bomb shelter for 12 days”
Teriomenko was a player of the Kharkiv Lokomotive for ten years. With this club he won the title of the Ukrainian champion nine times. Then he moved to Belgorod to visit in 2017. In defended the colors then. Currently he performs in French Tours VB.
However, the 35-year-old has not been able to focus on the game for several days. All because of the situation in his homeland. Teriomenko is extremely worried because his relatives, including his spouse and parents, stayed in Ukraine.
“I’ve been completely lost all the past week. The team went to the last matches without me. My colleagues said that it is better for me to stay at home now and be on the phone all the time, because someone from my family can call at any time and I will have to react immediately – he tells WP SportoweFakty.
– I am devastated by what is happening. But how I feel is not important now. Bombs don’t fall on my head. My family and my friends in Ukraine and my city matter. My wife is still in Kharkiv, she has been hiding in a bomb shelter for 12 days. I hope that today he will go to Poltava, 200 kilometers from Kharkiv. He does not want to leave Ukraine. He is a doctor and believes he has a moral obligation to stay and help people. In turn, my parents are in the territories occupied by the Russians. There is no chance to get them out of there – he adds.
Dmytro Teriomenko also appealed to the Poles who came to help the Ukrainians. – I would like to ask you Poles to help people from Kharkiv, Kiev or Chernihiv at your borders in the first place. From those places that suffered the most from bombs. These are very often people whose houses and apartments are in ruins, who have lost their possessions. I know that all refugees need help, but the people I mentioned need it the most – said the volleyball player.
The former player of Czarny Radom and AZS Olsztyn also revealed that in recent days he was contacted by several players whom he had met while playing on Polish fields. However, he received almost no information from his friends with whom he shared the cloakroom while playing in Belgorod, Russia.
– If we win this war, we will know well who is our friend and who is not. Poles are definitely friends. Many of my Polish friends wrote to me. Among them and with whom I played in Radom. They asked me if they could help somehow. No to me, but to Kharkivites yes. Please help Kharkov, said Teriomenko at the end.
