The International Football Federation (FIFA) has decided to postpone the 2022 World Cup play-off between the teams of Ukraine and Scotland for the summer. It is reported by The Sun.
The Football Association of Scotland has already received a notification from FIFA. The match is due in June. The most likely date for the meeting is June 4th.
On March 3, it was reported that FIFA decided to postpone the meeting, but the approximate date was not named then. Thus, the federation satisfied the requirements of the Ukrainian side. The play-off was originally scheduled to take place on 24 March.
FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have excluded Russian clubs and teams from international competitions. This decision was made against the backdrop of a special operation of the RF Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine. The Russian Football Union (RFU) will appeal this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
