A great turn on play with Russia ?! FIFA has a shameful plan

On March 24, the meeting with Russia was to begin the final stage of the fight for the World Cup in Qatar. After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, however, no one can imagine that the White and Reds would compete with the team led by.

The Poles were the first to announce a boycott of the match with Russia. Later, Swedish and Czech federations followed suit, which could match this rival in the second round of play-off matches.

Russia, however, will play with Poland? The case is still pending

The Russian Football Association hit the wall when FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian teams – both club and national – from international competitions. The case may have seemed closed, but Russian activists did not lay down their arms. They threatened to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This delayed the announcement of the walkover in favor of Poland.

It was announced that the final decision would be made last Friday. However, nothing of the sort happened. It is being said more and more that the Russians are preparing for a legal battle in which they do not have to be in a lost position.

– – said Jakub Laskowski – partner of LAS Legal, director of legal affairs and sports administration at Legia Warszawa, arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS).

FIFA is considering postponing the Russia-Poland match to June

According to Sebastian Staszewski from Interia, this may lead to an unbelievable twist of action. The journalist reported that in FIFA offices they are thinking that the Russia-Poland match should take place. The meeting would take place on a new date. In this case, it is said that the national teams of Sweden and the Czech Republic can also play in June.

“FIFA embarrassment to be continued? In Ukraine, the Russians are murdering civilians, and in Zurich they decided to play on time and look for a solution so as not to forfeit the Russians. One of the ideas is to postpone the play-off matches of our path B to June. This is absurd” – he wrote on Twitter.

According to recent reports, other meetings may also be postponed to June. Alexander Ceferin, the head of UEFA, was to assure the Ukrainian federation that the match against Scotland in Glasgow would take place on the new date. For this reason, the teams that are on this play-off path, i.e. Austria and Wales, will also start the struggle for the world championship in three months.
