Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers) won the opening time trial of the Tyrrhenian Adriatic of 13.9 kilometers disputed in Lido di Camaior and dressed the sweater leader bluebeating the two overall favourites, the Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) and the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates).
Ganna scored a goal time 15 minutes 57 seconds. He led Evenepoel, who was second, by 11 seconds, and Pogacar, who finished third, by 18 seconds.
As far as Basque runners are concerned, the cyclist from Gernika-Lumo Pello Bilbao (Bahrain – Victorious) needed 1 minute and 10 seconds more than Ganna to complete the course. Instead, alex aramburu (Movistar Team) finished 1 minute and 21 seconds behind the winner. Mikel Landa (Bahrain – Victorious) lost 1 minute and 23 seconds to the leader.
