Richard Carapaz debuts the CRI national champion title in the Tirreno-Adriatico; Filippo Ganna takes the first stage | Other Sports | sports

With the performance of four Ecuadorians, the Tirreno-Adriatico began this MondayItalian race that had the local Filippo Ganna as time trial winner individual (IRC). Richard Carapaz was the best of the tricolors in the day’s standings.

the olympic champion recorded 47 seconds more than his partner Ganna, CRI world champion, who won the stage by registering 15 minutes 17 seconds.

Second, at 11 seconds, the Belgian finished Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl), while the third place was occupied by the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Tem Emirates), 18 seconds behind Ganna.

In the stage classification, Carapaz was the best of the nationals, occupying box 20and the second of the Latin Americans after the Colombian Miguel Ángel López (Astana Qazaqstan Team), who was ranked 13th, 42 seconds behind Ganna and 5 less than the Locomotive. Caicedo ranked 62nd, Narvaez 132nd and Cepeda 165th.

The Tirreno-Adriatico will run a total of seven stages and will continue this Tuesday with an online session of 219 kilometers, with departure in Camaiore and arrival in Sovicille. (D)
