The International Football Federation (FIFA) will allow the legionnaires of the Russian Premier League (RPL) to finish the season in foreign clubs. It is reported by the New York Times.
The organization will offer foreign players to temporarily suspend contracts with Russian clubs and become players of foreign teams. New agreements will be calculated until June 30. After the expiration of the contracts, the legionnaires will have to return to their previous teams.
Foreign players and coaches continue to leave Russian clubs. In particular, the ex-defender of the Ukrainian national team Yaroslav Rakitsky terminated the contract with Zenit, the German specialist Markus Gisdol left Lokomotiv. Krasnodar parted ways with German coach Daniel Farke, and also suspended agreements with eight foreign players.
On February 28, FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the exclusion of Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Also, the Russian team lost the chance to participate in the 2022 World Cup.
