Now 28, the defender has been without a club since leaving England’s Nottingham Forest in January this year.
Rodrigo was revealed by Grêmio and, even before playing for the Tricolor professional, he was sold to Milan. In Italian football, he went through Reggina, Varese and Avellino, all on loan from the Milan team.
He was later bought by Alavés, the last club he played for before joining Nottingham Forest.
The Brazilian has signed with Almeria until the end of this season in June this year, with the option of automatic renewal for two more seasons.
