Former player Dmytro Czyhrynski is following the course with concern. Every day the Russians shell civilian objects, killing not only soldiers but also civilians.
Czyhrynski managed to evacuate his wife from Kiev shortly after the start of the war. He flew to Poland on purpose to pick her up from the border crossing. The footballer of Ionikos Piraeus, however, cannot sleep well. He is worried about his loved ones all the time. A significant part of his family remained in Kiev.

– My family is there, fighting for the country. My father, my mother, my brother, my wife’s family … They are all there, they don’t want to leave. My countrymen give me strength when I see them defend themselves. For me, all Ukrainians are heroes – he announced in an interview with the “sport.ua” portal.
– Now, more than ever, I am proud to be a Ukrainian. Every day I send all my thoughts to those who stayed to defend our land, he added.
Chihrynski unequivocally assesses the actions of Russian troops. As he eagerly emphasizes, everyone in Ukraine is in a difficult situation.
– They are destroying our world, our nation. We are a free country and we have been attacked. Today, in my homeland, all people are my brothers. When I see more people dying, something dies in me – he concluded.
Czyhrynski during his career defended the colors of such clubs as Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Barcelona. Recently, he was tried on to the teams of PKO Ekstraklasa. Activists made an offer to him last summer. The 35-year-old player did not accept the offer. He stayed in Greece, AEK Athens moved to Ionikos.
