There was no shortage of emotions. Anonymo Esports players have at one point been canceled by many esports fans in Poland. However, at a decisive moment they got up, which only added strength to their fight for the final victory.
They made the almost impossible
Adrian “imd” Pieper’s charges started Sunday very well. They won with the team Apeks, and then they faced the Turkish super squad – Eternal Fire. Here the opponents turned out to be too strong and the Poles fell to the lower bracket, in which there was a fight for the fifth, last place that day, awarded with promotion to the RMR tournament.
In the semi-final duel Anonymo faced FATE. At one point, things looked hopeless. The Poles were losing 4:15, and the opponent had 11 rounds to complete the Dust2 map. Remember that Dust2 is not Anonymo’s favorite map. Hardly anyone believed in such a turn of events. Even Piotr “Izak” Skowyrski, who commented on the game, had already delivered a monologue about the game of Polish teams, and the fans in the chat wrote “gh”. – A terrible situation for Anonymo. There are no advantages here – said “Izak”, an amazing that day, during the broadcast. – I have the impression that the mental Polish teams did not come here. Monke, Wis³a or Anonymo are teams that can play and achieve good results with strong teams on PVC (sparring – ed.). When it comes down to it, I have the feeling that everyone is playing with the handbrake on. This is a big problem and that’s why it looks like this. […] On the one hand, we are waiting for our return, and on the other hand, I have the impression that everyone has come to terms with this defeat.
It turned out that Paweł “innocent” Mocek and his colleagues were able to accomplish the almost impossible. They won eleven rounds in a row, leading to extra time in which they were clearly better than the Bulgarians. The amazing events in this match allowed Anonymo to enter the final with impetus against Tricked. The game went on for quite a long time. The players stayed on the server until 1 am, but in the end it was Poles who were happy to be promoted to the RMR tournament before PGL Major in Antwerp. First they won on the Mirage map after a fierce duel, and then they played on the Nuke on the defensive side. The 12: 3 advance was virtually impossible to squander. There was everything on Anonymo’s side – happiness, skills and mentality.
