The International Golf Federation (IGF) has decided to remove Russians and Belarusians from tournaments under its auspices. This was reported on the website of the organization.

They emphasized that they made a decision in order to protect the integrity of world sports competitions and the safety of all participants. “IGF will continue to monitor the situation closely and may adapt its decisions and measures in line with future developments,” the statement said.

On March 6, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said that the country did not intend to act from the position of the injured party. He stressed that most federations imposed sanctions on Russians and Belarusians under pressure from states.

On February 25, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) called on sports federations to cancel or reschedule competitions from Russia and Belarus. The executive committee of the organization also recommended not to fly flags and not to include the anthems of Russia and Belarus in all competitions.
