Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin said that the Russian side is in favor of dialogue with international sports organizations. It is reported by TASS.
Matytsin stressed that Russia does not intend to act from the position of the injured party. The Minister of Sports stressed that most federations imposed sanctions on Russians and Belarusians under pressure from states. “I think a dialogue should begin through sports,” Matytsin added.
Russian athletes faced sanctions from international organizations. In particular, domestic football players remained out of international competitions. The International Football Federation (FIFA) has suspended Russian clubs and national teams from tournaments.
The Russian Football Union (RFU) expressed its readiness to challenge the FIFA sanctions. The domestic organization announced plans to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
