Xavi admits conversation with Haaland and talks about reinforcements: “We are working for the present and future of Barcelona”

One of the most coveted players in European football’s transfer market, striker Erling Haaland is back in the news this week after a meeting he had with former Barcelona player and current coach Xavi Hernández.

During a trip to Munich, Germany, Xavi confirmed that he spoke with the Borussia Dortmund player to present a Barcelona project to him, but said he could not go into details about the negotiation.

“I cannot give details. The only thing I can say about Haaland is that we are working for the present and future of Barcelona. If we announce something, you will know”, said the coach of the Catalan team.

With the intention of reformulating the squad for next season, Barça has already started to move in the market. This Friday, the club announced the signing of midfielder Pablo Torre, only 18 years old, from Racing Santander, in the Spanish third division.

The athlete, despite his young age, is seen as a promise of European football and was acquired permanently, for the sum of 5 million euros.

Even with the arrival of the Spaniard, Barcelona is still looking for a strong name to reinforce the team led by Xavi.

“Explaining the project, trusting and being honest with the player we want to sign. The model, the idea of ​​the game, which he will like, the club, which is the best in the world, the city… The most important thing is that I haven’t seen any player who has said no to Barça. They all want to come. Then there are clauses, personal circumstances… everyone is excited to come to Barça,” replied Xavi, when asked about his role in the club’s negotiations.

This Sunday, Barcelona will face Elche, at 12:15 (Brasília time), away from home, in a match valid for the 27th round of the Spanish Championship. With 45 points, the Catalonia team is currently fourth in the competition.
