The organization of these events was assigned by Conmebol, an entity that defined its competition calendar for the following season.
The Conmebol announced this Wednesday the venue of at least 13 tournaments for clubs and national teams according to their 2022 calendar, among these two events that will host Ecuador, in football of lower categories and women.
The first tournament that the country will host is the Under-20 Libertadores Cup, contest that will complete its sixth edition and that for the first time he will arrive in Ecuador. This tournament has scheduled dates between February 5 and 20.
The Copa Libertadores sub-20 has as current champion to Independiente del Valle, winner of the 2020 edition in Paraguay. Last year the tournament was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Another event that Ecuador will host is the Copa Libertadores Femenina, which returns to the country after the edition disputed in 2019.
The cup It will be played between October 13 and 28, in what will be the fourteenth edition. This year the tournament will play the group stage in Paraguay, and the final in Uruguay, on November 21.
The host cities and stadiums where the two tournaments will be played in Ecuador have not yet been confirmed by the Ecuadorian Football Federation.
Other events to which Conmebol established headquarters are the Women’s America’s Cup, which will take place from 8 to 30 July in Colombia.

By 2022, all the countries associated with Conmebol will be in charge of at least one tournament between men’s and women’s soccer, futsal and beach soccer championships.
Among the main events of futsal are the Copa América for January, in Brazil, and the Copa Libertadores for May, in Argentina.
