Due to the situation, activists are considering shortening the football games in. A general meeting of club authorities was to take place on Thursday, where the calendar for the end of the 2021/22 season was discussed.
According to unofficial news, the authorities of the Russian league want to shorten the league as much as possible and end it in April. It would be about moving three lines (28, 29 and 30) to March and April. All this in fear of the imminent departure of foreign footballers.
It may be difficult to find the dates on which the matches could take place. According to the current calendar, the matches of the 28th round should take place on May 5-6, May 29 – 12-13, and May 30 – 20-21.
On Friday, the portal informed about the FIFA Football Stakeholders Committee meetings, during which the change of transfer regulations was discussed. It was, among others, about foreigners playing in Russia. There are two ideas. One is allowing players to terminate contracts with clubs by mutual consent outside the transfer window.
The second idea is more radical. It is about granting the right to terminate contracts to all foreigners appearing in the Premier League due to the country’s participation in the armed conflict. Although this option pushed by FIFPro should find support, it is quite controversial. Russian clubs would lose millions.
