The game –

The first half was dominated by the home team, who had 80% possession of the ball and kicked six times against an opponent who didn’t even finish during the first 45 minutes of the game. The team, however, couldn’t swing the net and the initial stage ended in a 0-0 tie.

On the return of the break, Everton needed 10 minutes to open the scoring. Rondón took advantage of Kenny’s low cross, from the right, to deflect and put the home team in advantage.

In the 25th minute of the second half, Gordon got up in the area and the defender took it with his head, but the ball hit Richarlisson’s face and went into the goal. The video referee, however, identified a deflection in the Brazilian’s hand and annulled what would have been Everton’s second goal.

At the end of the game, in the 39th minute, Townsend received the ball from the left side and lifted the ball in the area. Rondón appeared from behind the defense and headed towards the goal, extending it to Everton. Ashbby-Hammond, the opposing goalkeeper, came to defend, but the ball had already crossed the goal line. End of game and victory of Frank Lampard’s team by 2-0.
