The KSW 68 gala will take place on March 19. In the fight of the evening, Salahdin Parnasse (16-1-1) will defend the feather category belt against Daniel Rutkowski (13-2). The presence of the undefeated Shamil Musaev (14-0-1), who did not know his rival yet, was also supposed to appear in Radom, aroused a lot of emotions.

“Due to the brutal aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the organization made a difficult, but ethically justified decision to cancel the performance of Russia’s representative Shamil Musaev at the upcoming KSW 68 gala on March 19 in Radom,” informed KSW.

Maciej Kawulski, co-owner of KSW, informed about the reasons for this decision. – It was the only way out of this difficult situation. Until further notice, we will not cooperate with athletes who clearly, declaratively and personally represent the Russian Federation. We will behave exactly like the whole world of sport we feel part of. I realize that many athletes are not to blame for what happened, but like the Polish Football Association, we had no choice. Several Russians are fighting in our organization, but the situation is not zero-one, because they come from countries that are not fully connected with Russia voluntarily. This is where the difficulty lies – Kawulski said in an interview with

Musayev formally represented Russia, but is of Avar origin. He was born in Dagestan, an autonomous and multi-ethnic republic that is part of the Russian Federation. So far, Musaev in the KSW cage has defeated, among others Uros Jurisic or Grzegorz Szulakowski, and recently he drew with MichaƂ Pietrzak.
