The match will be a duel of preparation for both countries ahead of a new round of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which is stipulated for the second week of November.

For the commitment, both the coach of Ecuador, Gustavo Alfaro, and that of Mexico will present a mix of starters, substitutes and others summoned for the first time, because they will not have their main figures because the friendly does not enter the FIFA date calendar and many clubs did not want to lend their players.

On the part of the Argentine Alfaro, the strategist drew up a list of 20 players, with only two who have participated in the qualifying process: Hernán Galíndez and Michael Estrada. In addition, only two of the list belong to the foreign sphere and the others are from the local environment.

With this list of summoned, Gustavo Alfaro will look for players that he can use for the match against Venezuela and Chile, scheduled for November 11 and 16, respectively, in addition to the replacements of Pervis Estupiñán, Diego Palacios and Ángel Mena, suspended for the first game in Quito.

For his part, Tata Martino summoned 18 players, being all of the local scope. However, only seven of those players have not been able to debut with the senior team, so he will put experienced players, such as offensive midfielders Roberto Alvarado and Uriel Antuna, with 23 and 25 games, respectively.

Mexico will clash for the octagonal final of the Concacaf against United States and Canada on November 12 and 16, respectively, so he hopes to find good players to add to those called up for those games.
