Tuchel comments on Abramovich’s departure from Chelsea: “It doesn’t change the day to day”

Last Saturday, the Chelsea released an official statement informing that the Russian Roman Abramovich, owner of the club since 2003, left the command of the club amid the conflict in Ukraine. In a press conference, coach Thomas Tuchel played down the situation, saying that it does not affect the day to day.

“I think for me, as a coach and in charge of the team, this decision doesn’t change the day to day. I’m not aware of the details and the whole situation. We all agree that these are situations that are much more important than football. , that will never change. Situations like war are much more important. But Abramovich’s position is not for me to comment on because I just don’t know enough about it”, said the German coach, who saw his team defeated by Liverpool in the Premier League Cup final.

In the statement released by the Blues, Abramovich transferred the command of the English club to the directors of the Chesea FOundation.

“I have always made decisions with the club’s best interest at heart. I remain committed to these values. That’s why today I’m giving the trustees of the Chelsea Foundation the management and care of Chelsea FC. I believe they are currently in the best position to look after the interests of the Club, players, staff and fans.”

Chelsea return to the field this Wednesday, for the FA Cup. Thomas Tuchel’s team faces Luton Town, from the second division, at 16:45 (GMT).
