Iga won three high-stakes matches in a row against her rivals from the top 10 of the ranking. Until Monday, all the above-mentioned tennis players had higher scores than the Polish one. But now Iga has advanced from eighth to fourth place.

– From the beginning of the season, Iga exudes self-confidence. You can see that she is well prepared, full of energy, hungry to play and very aggressive. She is very consistent – even if a match does not go well for her, she still tries to be the tennis player who exerts pressure, the one who depends more on the court – she comments in an interview with Sport.pl.

– Iga dominated Sabalenka, Kontaveit and Sakkari thanks to this attitude. She was very successful. It shows that she can play with tennis players so far uncomfortable for her. But not always and not with everyone it will win – adds the coach who leads the Polish national team taking part in the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly the Federation Cup).

– There is no rival in the world with whom Iga could not win, but we must know that circumstances will have a big impact on the results. Recently, Iga lost to Jelena Ostapenko in Dubai. There, light balls were played on a fast surface. And since the air is dry there, the ball was behaving particularly strangely. And there it was much more difficult for Iga than in Doha, where the courts were slower and the balls were heavier – explains Celt.

Even more important than the results – simply the most important – is, according to the coach, that Iga ¦wi ± tek simply stabilized in a very good form. – Iga does not go below a certain, high level. She is repetitive, she can use her experience and win matches when she is not doing well, when she has a bad day. Iga is able to keep a cool head in difficult moments. – says the husband who was in the coaching staff of our former number 2 in the world ranking.

– After what Iga showed in Qatar, but also before reaching the semi-finals in Adelaide and the Australian Open, I will not be surprised if he ends the season number 2 – says Celt. – It may be difficult to be number 1 this year, because Barty has a big advantage. But I think that Iga’s number 1 in the world ranking is only a matter of time. Iga is already among the two or three girls in the world who play the best, most even – convinces Celt.

– I am very glad that Iga started working with Tomek. It’s nice that she appreciated the Polish trainer. She probably had hints and suggestions to try working with a foreign trainer, but she did not do it and I think it was a good decision – adds the trainer. – Tomek is such an experienced and good trainer that he is able to help Iga. He walked with Agnieszka a similar path that he has to go with Iga. He was with her for many years at the top of tennis, so the experience he gained there can now pass on to another player – convinces Celt.
