Speculated at Real Madrid, Mbappé could renew with Paris Saint-Germain

The future of Frenchman Kylian Mbappé could take a turn. After being speculated as a new signing for Real Madrid for next season, the striker may withdraw from the transfer and renew with Paris Saint-Germain, according to the newspaper L’Equipe.

According to the French tabloid, one of Mbappé’s motivations for staying at PSG is his desire to become the club’s top scorer.

Last Saturday, the striker scored two goals in the 3-1 victory against Saint-Étienne, for the French Championship, and reached the mark of 156 goals with the team’s shirt, becoming the second highest scorer in PSG’s history.

Today, the athlete is behind Uruguayan Edinson Cavani, only, who has 200 goals for the Parisian club.

At just 23 years old, Mbappé has a contract with Paris until June this year. The Spanish press, in turn, believes in the transfer to the Merengues in the near future.

As he continues with an indefinite future, the Frenchman turns his attention to the four lines. On Saturday, PSG face Nice, away from home, for the 27th round of the French Championship. The team leads the competition with 62 points, 15 ahead of second-placed Olympique de Marseille.

Then, on March 9, Paris Saint-Germain visit Real Madrid, at the Santiago Bernabéu, for the second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League. In the first leg, the Parisians won at home 1-0, with a goal from Mbappé himself.
