“The clubs say that the decision to refuse to play with the Russians is imposed from above. They themselves have nothing to do with this and are ready to meet with Russian teams on the site, ”the source said. It is noted that we are talking about Real Madrid, Basque Country and Barcelona. Three Russian clubs also take part in the tournament – CSKA Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg and UNICS Kazan.
Earlier on Monday, February 28, the Swiss Football Association announced that the team would not play Russia in the 2022 World Cup qualification playoffs in Qatar. Prior to this, the press services of the football federations of the Czech Republic, Sweden and Poland also announced that they refused to play matches against the Russians.
