After sacking Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds United already has a new coach

Leeds United, the Premier League’s first division team, have a new coach. This is Jesse Marsch, according to information from the Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

Now 48, Marsch is born in the United States and has been without a club since December 2021, when he left Germany’s RB Leipzig.

Before, he had already commanded Austria’s RB Salzburg and won two Austrian Championships for the club.

The American arrives to replace the Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, who was sacked from the command of Leeds after the rout against Tottenham last Saturday in the Premier League.

“El Loco Bielsa”, as he is known, arrived at the English club in June 2018. Last season, the team, under his command, finished in ninth place in the English.

However, with the defeat to Tottenham, the team reached the mark of 17 goals conceded in the last four games, having scored only two.

Now with a new coach, Leeds are in 16th place in the Premier League, with 23 points, just two points above Burnley, the first team in the relegation zone.

Next Saturday, to try to get out of this situation, the team faces Leicester, away from home, in a match valid for the 28th round of the English first division.
