Rublev spoke about the first line of Medvedev in the ATP rating

Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev spoke about the first line of compatriot Daniil Medvedev in the rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). His words are reported by journalist Rem Aboulleil in Twitter.

Rublev called Medvedev’s achievement of the status of the first racket of the world a historic moment. “I told him many times that the things he does are just incredible. I think he inspires many people, including me, because something that he does on the court, how smart he plays, it’s amazing, ”said the tennis player.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev called Medvedev’s result outstanding. “Danya is a brilliant and intelligent player, and an intellectual. I admire him. I would like him to take this line longer, ”he said.

On February 24, it became known that Medvedev would become the first racket of the world. The Russian, playing at the tournament in Mexican Acapulco, beat the Spaniard Pablo Andujar with a score of 6:1, 6:2 and made it to the quarterfinals. On the same day, the current leader of the rating Novak Djokovic lost the ATP-500 tournament in Dubai and lost 410 points. Thus, Medvedev scored 8525 points and overtook Djokovic, who has 8465 points. The updated rating will be available on February 28.
