Mike Tyson, the youngest heavyweight champion in history, spoke at Shay Shay Club, former NFL player Shannon Sharp’s podcast about his career. The boxer revealed: “One of the best things that happened to me was that my mother died, because she took care of me like a baby. I would never have entered the street fights, I would never have defended myself.

Tyson’s mother passed away when he was 16, leaving custody of her son to trainer Cus D’Amato. “At 14 years old he already thought that he could be world champion. I won national championships, I had KO records, I lost to the eventual champion. Once I turned pro, my whole life changed and I beat everyone. He also commented on one of his current projects, which is medical marijuana, something he claims he used during his career.

“I’m a different person when I’m not using it. I couldn’t have been a champion like I am now. My greatest virtue are my flaws. Without them, I am nothing. There is no problem with having flaws.
