This Thursday, the Barcelona heads to southern Italy to face Napoli, in the second leg of the qualifying round of Europa League. After a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou, Catalans coach Xavi Henández admitted that an elimination “would be a disappointment”.
“Not qualifying would be a disappointment, as we have high expectations in this competition,” said the coach at a press conference prior to the match.
“It is not the Champions, but a European competition, with prestigious rivals. We want to demonstrate that we are competitive and we will have another opportunity to be. If we are at our level we will have options, it will be a very tough match”, added Xavi.
Barcelona was eliminated in the group stage of the Champions Leagueranking third in the group, behind Bayern Munchen e Benfica. Thus, the team went to the Europa League and needs to beat Napoli to continue in the competition.
