Ecuador completes quotas in table tennis for the Rosario 2022 Odesur Youth Games | Other Sports | sports

Kimberly Barrosfrom Morona-Santiago, and Allison Loorfrom Manabí, took over the two quotas of ladies to represent Ecuador in the table tennis competitions of the next South American Youth Gameswhich will take place in Rosario, Argentina.

The other places, in men, have already been awarded after a technical criterion in favor of the micro tennis players Diego Piguave and Jeremy Cedeno.

Barros and Loor participated in the national selective that took place in the coliseum of this sport of the Sports Federation of Guayas. While Barros defeated in the final Fiorella Olayafrom Guayas, in the first round, Cedeño did the same with Rachel Cajilimafrom Morona Santiago, in the second.

Competence

14 athletes participated in the tournament. Morona-Santiago, Manabi, The rivers and Guayas.

Barros passed the round by being released in the draw; in the second round he eliminated the manabita Stephanie Molina, by defeating her 3-0 (11-3, 11-7 and 11-6). Then, in the semifinals, she beat Keymi Anchundia, from Guayas, which they beat 3-1, with partials 12-10, 13-11, 5-11 and 7-11. With his victory he went on to dispute the quota with Fiorella Olayaalso from Guayas, who gave her a hard fight and finally the victory went to the eastern representative by 3-2, with scores 11-8, 11-9, 2-11, 7-11 and 11-9.

In the second key, at the beginning of the competition, the manabita Allison Loor was released and went straight to the second phase in which he met Genesis Maciasfrom Guayas, whom she beat, despite starting losing 4-11, 5-11, after recovering and defeating her 11-5, 11-9 and 11-8.

The semi-final round was won by Allison as she emerged victorious over Keymi Anchundia, from Guayas, by 17-15, 12-10 and 11-6. The final for the quota was disputed with Rachel Cajilimawho was beaten 11-3, 12-10 and 11-3.

The Ecuadorian Table Tennis Federation notified that the quotas to participate for Ecuador in the Odesur 2022 Games are occupied by Kimberly Barros, Allison Loor, Diego Piguave and Jeremy Cedeno. (D)
