Koeman defends Dembélé’s renewal with Barcelona: “He’s a different player”

The permanence of Ousmane Dembélé in the Barcelona it is not certain, as it is at the end of the contract. However, despite having been speculated in other clubs, the Catalan team works for the permanence of the player. Coach Ronald Koeman is one of the supporters of the striker’s contract extension.

“The most important thing is that we want him to stay. It’s important and has quality. He’s a different player and the goal is to renew with him”, said the Dutchman at a press conference this Tuesday.

“Another thing is that, if you don’t want to renew, we’ll have to talk to the club about the best way to deal with it. However, we don’t talk about what our strategy will be if he doesn’t renew”, he added.

Dembélé is recovering from a knee injury and has yet to take the field this season. The prediction is that he return to the lawns on wednesday, in front of Rayo Vallecano, at 14:00 (GMT). The match is valid for the 11th round of the Spanish Championship.
