Former footballer of the Russian national team explained the absence of Dziuba in the national team

The head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, has a good selection of forwards. Dmitry Kombarov, a former Spartak defender, told Sport-Express about this.

This is how the player explained the absence of Zenit striker Artem Dziuba in the expanded squad for the November matches. “I don’t think he is weaker than any of the attackers, but now Karpin has made a choice in favor of these players,” Kombarov added. The ex-footballer of the Russian national team also said that he did not know in what relationship Dziuba was with the team’s mentor now.

The expanded national squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifying matches against Cyprus (November 11) and Croatia (November 14) was announced on Monday 25 October. There are 41 footballers on the list, including five forwards.

Dziuba is not on the list. The player refused to come to the previous training camp of the team in October, motivating it with insufficient level of physical readiness.
