Olharan-Etcheto reach the semifinals after coming back against Barandika-Lekerika (1-2)

Monday night, and before 1,400 people who filled the Jai Alai of Gernikathe 5th day of the Jai Alai Winter Series in which the last clash of Group A was played; Olharan and Etcheto beat Barandika-Lekerika (15-13, 11-15 and 2-5).

Both pairs lost to Erkiaga and Zabala who are already qualified for the semifinals. Therefore, the other square was put into play; Barandika-Lekerika had one point in the standings after losing 2-1 (12-15, 15-14 and 5-3) while Olharan-Etcheto had not opened their locker after losing 2-0 (12-15 and 8- fifteen).

The couple formed by Barandika and Lekerika started winning the first set for a tight 15-13, but Olharan and Etcheto did not give up and they won the second 11-15. In the third and final tiebreaker set they managed to win 2-5 and the ticket to the semifinals.

Erkiaga and Zabala are first in Group A with seven points, Olharan and Etcheto second with three, and Barandika and Lekerika eliminated with two points.

Next Monday the two semifinalists of Group B will be known in the match between Goikoetxea-Aimar and Arbe-López. The latter are obliged to win 0-2 and score a good average goal to advance to the semi-finals, otherwise they will be Goiko-Aimar and Beaskoetxea-Aldazabal those who continue in the championship.
