De Gea says he doesn’t think about leaving United and plans to meet Atletico Madrid

Goalkeeper De Gea has regained his best level and doesn’t think about leaving the Manchester United so early. At the club since 2011, the Spaniard has been having a good season, being one of the main highlights of the team.

In an interview with Sky SportsDe Gea stated that he feels at home in England and is not considering a transfer at the moment.

“I was born in Madrid, but it’s just a city. Now I feel like I’m from Manchester, like everyone else from Manchester. I am treated well here and welcome. I’ve been here for many years and we know that anything can happen in life and in the world of football, but honestly, I don’t see myself far from Manchester United,” he said.

This Wednesday, the goalkeeper will meet the Madrid’s athleticthe club that revealed it, for the round of 16 of the Champions Leagueat 17:00 (Brasília time), in the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

De Gea showed gratitude to Atlético, but assured that the only thought is the victory and eventual classification.

“Atletico Madrid gave me the opportunity to be who I am today, but it’s just another game. Everyone wants to play well in matches of this level and our goal is to win. It is a Champions League game and the victory is very important for what we project for the season”, he added.

At 31 years old, De Gea is one of those quoted to be Spain’s first-team world Cup from Qatar. For the national team, the goalkeeper accumulates 45 matches.
