President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RHF) Vladislav Tretyak named goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov the best player of the national team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. It is reported by TASS.
“He has both character and stability. He played so clearly, as if he had been in the national team for many years. I think he was the best player in our team. We have the strongest goalkeeper, and God forbid that he stays in our hockey, ”said Tretiak.

The functionary also said that when he was playing for the USSR national team, he had the right to make a mistake, since his team always scored at least two or three goals. “Imagine what concentration he should have, and he showed it,” Tretyak added.
Fedotov, as part of the Russian national team, played all six matches at the Olympics. He missed ten goals, and in two matches left his net dry. The Russian team at the Games in Beijing won silver medals.
