On February 17, Shcherbakova won Olympic gold with a total of 255.95 points. Alexandra Trusova is in second place with 251.73 points. She set a historic milestone by jumping five quadruple jumps in the free skate.
Another Russian Kamila Valieva failed to keep the lead after the short program and took fourth place in the individual figure skater tournament at the Beijing Games. The figure skater was admitted to the competition after a doping scandal, a microdose of a banned substance was found in her sample.
