Deputy Prime Minister of Russia reacted to the words of the head of the IOC about Valieva and Tutberidze

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko criticized the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach because of the latter’s comments about the performance of figure skater Kamila Valieva. This is reported by the portal Inside the Games.

Bach said that the mentor of the 15-year-old figure skater Eteri Tutberidze reacted coldly to the rental of the ward. According to Chernyshenko, such statements by the head of the IOC are inappropriate and directional. “We are disappointed that the president of the committee invents stories about the feelings of our athletes, and then speaks on behalf of the entire organization,” the deputy prime minister said.

Earlier, on February 18, the State Duma reacted to Bach’s words. “He is not a child psychologist, it is not his level to judge the emotions of the coach,” said MP Dmitry Svishchev.

Valieva took fourth place in the individual figure skaters’ tournament. She failed to keep the lead in the short program. The Olympic champion was her compatriot Anna Shcherbakova.
