Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva addressed the participants of the individual tournament at the Beijing Olympics. The post is available on Instagram.
“Camila, I know how you feel. You may think this is the end. No, this is not the end,” with these words she turned to 15-year-old Kamila Valieva, who did not manage to get into the number of winners at the end of the competition. Medvedeva wished the figure skater to stay longer in the sport and recommended to give up social networks for a while and spend time with loved ones.
Medvedev was also supported by another Russian figure skater, Alexandra Trusova, who burst into tears after the silver medal following the results of the individual tournament. “I had gold medals in my career, Sasha. But I can’t repeat what you are doing, ”Medvedev said.
Russian Anna Shcherbakova became the winner of the individual tournament at the Games in Beijing. Valieva was in the lead after the short program, but failed to hold on to first place. She performed against the backdrop of the December 25 doping scandal.
