The head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Thomas Bach, admitted that Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze may face punishment following an investigation into the situation with a dubious doping test of Kamila Valieva. It is reported by “Championship.com”.
Bach stressed that the committee had demanded an investigation. He noted that measures against Valieva’s entourage, including Tutberidze, can be very strict.
Earlier, Bach commented on Valieva’s performance in the free program of the Olympics. According to the head of the committee, he was upset with the rental of the Russian woman.
Valieva took fourth place in the individual tournament at the Olympics, despite leading the short program. The athlete performed against the backdrop of a scandal with a dubious doping test. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) allowed her to participate in the Games, rejecting appeals from the IOC and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
