The Paraguayan soccer team changes locations for the game against Ecuador on March 24, for matchday 17 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier. As announced by the local association, the duel will be played at the Antonio Aranda Stadium, from east city.
Eliminated from any option to reach the World Cup, Paraguay opts for a change of venue to measure Ecuador, which with a draw ensures its direct ticket to Qatar.
“The Communications Department of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) reports that the match between Paraguay and Ecuador for the South American Qualifiers will be played at the Antonio Aranda stadium in Ciudad del Este on Thursday, March 24, ”says a statement from the APF released by local media.
Known as the Bastion of the East, the sports arena is owned by the club 3 de Febrero and it will be the third in which Paraguay plays during this tie, after playing their games in Asunción, at the stadium Defenders of the Chaco and in the stadium The New Potfrom Cerro Porteno.
The stage has capacity for 28,000 fans and before that it has hosted matches of the 2009 Copa América and the South American under-16 (2004) and under-20 (2007).
The game between Albirroja and Tricolor will be played on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. (from Ecuador), in a unified schedule with the games on date 17 of the tie, according to FIFA’s provisions.
