Ukrainian skier Valentina Kaminskaya, convicted of doping at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, announced on her Instagram page that she is ending her career in professional cross-country skiing.
“My professional skiing career came to an abrupt end. (…) The shocking news about my doping test at the Olympics is a real disaster and almost the end of the world for me. It was a point-blank shot from a nuclear weapon that destroyed me and wiped me off the face of the earth! the skier said. She said that she had never taken illegal substances.
Kaminskaya noted that she would not be able to collect evidence to defend her case. “I can only survive this test and hope that they will not give me a “tower” for this crime, which I did not commit. I feel like a villain who did something terrifying, but he didn’t understand how, ”she shared.
On February 16, it became known that Kaminskaya was temporarily suspended from participation in the Beijing Olympics. In a sample of a 34-year-old athlete dated February 10, traces of three banned drugs were found – mesterolone, methylhexanamine and heptaminol.
