GolTV’s debt with LigaPro is $15,090,342 and would be paid in five installments until June 2023, according to a new agreement

A transactional act that would be signed this Tuesday by the Professional Soccer League of Ecuador (LigaPro) and GolTV, the company that owns the television rights of the national championship, and to which this newspaper had access, gives an account and reason that the debt recognized by the Uruguayan firm with Ecuadorian football is $15,090,342an amount that will be paid in June 2023 after the payment of five installments.

According to the document, the debt corresponds “to the revenue share of the year 2019 and the balance of the consideration of the year 2021″.

In one of the terms of the new negotiation it is indicated that the securities “will be fully paid in five installments, and without any discount”, the first dated March 31, 2022 and the last June 30, 2023. The four initial payments will be $3,000,000, while the final one will amount to $3,090,342.

The minutes awaited the signatures of Miguel Ángel Loor and Alberto Díaz Lorente, president and executive director of LigaPro, respectively; Carlos Moyano Casal, Executive President and Chairman of the Board (two positions) of GolTV Latin America; and Francisco Casal, Chairman of the Board from GolTV Inc., in that order.

Another of the terms of the agreement indicates that “the partial or total non-compliance of GolTV with the payment, in time and amount, of any of the pre-indicated installments, that is, of the revenue share of the year 2019 or the balance of the consideration of the year 2021, will demand the entire amount agreedif GolTV has failed to pay any amount due (of the aforementioned fees) within the first 15 (fifteen) business days following the written notice given by LigaPro about such non-compliance”.

On Monday, in a letter addressed to the LigaPro and with a copy to his clubs, Moyano ratified his acceptance of the offer of the Ecuadorian football entities to be transferred to the national football organization “the income generated by the contract to be entered into between GolTV and Betcris (online sports betting house and main sponsor of the LigaPro) as a form of payment of the amounts owed to date”. With the letter, the director of the television station aimed at ending “the existing controversies” due to the debt.

Last Friday, a new chapter of the soap opera between GolTV and the LigaPro clubs arose. In another meeting, both parties left without signing an agreement due to the debt that the channel maintains with the teams. The company had presented five payment offers, but these were rejected by the leaders, who demanded immediate disbursements and guarantees for the future.; one of them, José Delgado, president of Delfín de Manta, even opened the possibility of postponing the start of Series A (February 18) if there was no agreement on the amounts.
