Valieva’s coaches were called to be banned from sports for life

Olympic field hockey champion Sam Quek published an article in the British The Mirror, where she shared her opinion about the scandal at the Beijing Games around the doping test of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. The text is available on the publication’s website.

A 33-year-old participant in the Games in Rio de Janeiro admitted that she sympathizes with 15-year-old Valieva. She did not believe that the Russian athlete could knowingly use a prohibited drug. At the same time, Quek considered the dubious doping test an unforgivable mistake and laid the blame on Valieva’s entourage.

“I sympathize with Camila, she is now in a difficult situation, but those responsible for this failure should be banned from sports for life,” Quek made such a call, speaking of the coaching staff headed by Eteri Tutberidze.

Earlier, on February 14, it became known that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) allowed Valiyeva to participate in the Olympics. The Russian woman will perform at a personal figure skater tournament, which will be held on February 15 and 17.
