Detention of Spartak fans after the match with Zenit caught on video

A video of the brutal detention of one of the Spartak fans on the territory of the stadium in St. Petersburg has appeared on the network. The events took place during the half-time match of the 12th round of Tinkoff of the Russian Premier League, following which Zenit defeated Spartak with a score of 7: 1. The frames were published by Telegram channel Karpinside.

The footage shows police officers next to a fan. First, they twisted the man and knocked him to the ground, then pulled him aside. As reported by the Telegram-channel “Exit Notes”, law enforcement officers severely beat the fans of “Spartak” during the break while trying to leave the stadium. Batons and electric shockers were used during the beatings.

The press service of “Spartak” explained that the incident occurred when upset fans tried to leave the stadium, but they should have been provided with a bus only at the end of the match. This led to “a verbal conflict and the subsequent harsh detention of some fans,” said the head of the football club’s press service Dmitry Zelenov, quoted by the Sport-Express newspaper.

In total, five people were detained. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the fans were prosecuted for petty hooliganism. At the moment, the detainees are in the department, one of them has a serious head injury. There is no ambulance for the guys.

Earlier on October 24, Spartak suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Zenit. Red and white lost 1: 7. This is Zenit’s biggest victory in the history of head-to-head confrontations with the capital club. Prior to that, the biggest victory was the 2012 match, when Zenit beat Spartak 5-0.
