The mishap of the Polish couple at the end of the performance. “It left a bad impression”

Monday did not start well for the Polish Olympians. Among our representatives that day, the figure skaters were the first to start. Our dance couple – Natalia Kaliszek and Maksym Spodyriew are joining the competition in the free program.

The unlucky fall of Poles in the free program. Lost chance for a good result

The performance of the Poles started well and at the end of the competition with a score of 70.32 points, they were in the 15th position. However, it was at that moment that the worst happened, which was an unlucky fall that ruined the chances of a good result. Spodyriev, picking up his partner, loses balance and as a result they both lay on the ice after a while.

Nothing happened to our couple, but the judges were ruthless and severely assessed the performance of the Poles. – I don’t think it was a bad ride. I still have to analyze it all and then I’ll be wiser. I am generally content, except for this unfortunate fall at the end. I think this was a moment of losing concentration. It was a difficult part and unfortunately it did not work out. They may overcome and both of them have fallen. It left an impression on the judges – admitted coach Sylwia Nowak-Trbacka in an interview with Eurosport.

Ultimately, our pair received 96.99 points for their run, and 167.31 points in total for two runs, which gave her the 17th place at the end of the competition. The French couple Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron triumphed, breaking the world record (226.98 points). The second place was taken by the Russian pair Sinitsyn – Kacaapov, and the third by the American Hubbell – Donohue.
