A drama in Beijing. She was running for a medal and suddenly a total stretch

In the Sunday race, as well as in the sprint, Marte Olsbu Roeiseland was unrivaled. The Norwegian girl set off on the route 31 seconds ahead of Elvira Oeberg from Sweden and Dorothea Wierer from Italy.

She was running for a bronze medal. It weakened and ended up in 14th place

Roeiseland’s victory in the race was not in jeopardy for a moment. The Norwegian one ran at a good pace and was very effective at the shooting range. Roeiseland made a mistake only once – during the first standing shooting – but her delicate mistake was not taken advantage of by any of the rivals who also failed perfect shooting.

In the end, Roeiseland was the first to finish with a lead of over 1.5 minutes over the Swedish Hanna Oeberg. Third place was taken by the winner’s countryman – Tiril Eckhoff – who started the route as 11th. The Norwegian woman made three mistakes at the shooting range, but the rest of the group, which made the same number of mistakes, ran the fastest, which gave her the podium.

However, another Norwegian representative had to win the bronze medal. Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold did a great job. The 25-year-old made a mistake at the shooting range only once. She was third for the last loop of the racing race. She had a considerable advantage over her rivals. When it seemed that she would reach for the first Olympic rings in her career, she weakened a kilometer before the finish line.

Tandrevold was overtaken by a few competitors and she finished the competition only on the fourteenth. But the worst happened behind the finish line. Ingrid fainted and was unable to get up on her own. Medical services ran up to her immediately. After a while, two people helped to get up and leave the Norwegian finish zone. The staff physician said that Tandrevold had not passed out, although such information had originally appeared.

The words Hojnisz-Starêgi prove themselves. “Every second chick faints”

– Honestly speaking, I don’t remember much about the race since the second round. It’s quite obvious that I didn’t handle the competition as well as I should. But no one can say that I did not give my best – said some time after the run, the world runner-up from a year ago.

Norwegian commentators believe that this “power cut” is the result of playing competitions high above sea level. And Tandrevold had problems with her in the past. This was the case, for example, during the 2019 P¦ in Anterselva. The six-time medalist M¦ also ran out of energy in the second half of the race and missed the last shot. For a moment she couldn’t see where he was shooting.

– It can be compared to low blood sugar. You really become completely powerless then. Dizziness, tremors, and all at once. It’s difficult – said Liv Grete Skjelbreid, NRK TV expert. Nothing serious happened to the biathlete. A few hours after the competition, she posted a post on Instagram and thanked for her support.

– I took this picture in December when I thought it was the end of biathlon for me. Thought I’d keep this picture while it all turned around to appreciate the ups and downs. Today, however, I fell into a depression again. I think sport is not fair. Thank you very much for all the messages I have received. You are the best. I will fight on, wrote Tandrevold.

She also spoke about the difficult conditions during the Olympics. Her account was shocking. -When you enter the changing room and every second chick faints there, the route seems to be taking its toll. It’s hard, but as I can see from other players, not only for me –
