Four powerhouses certain of the quarter-finals of the hockey players’ tournament

The tournament has a specific format. All twelve teams participating in the competition will advance to the knockout stage. The group stage, where they were divided into three groups, decided only which teams would be promoted directly to the top, and which teams would have to fight for this top in an additional barau.

We know the first testimonials. The rest of them fight in the bars

Before the Sunday meetings, only the representation of the Russian Olympic Committee was certain of a promotion, which was won by Group B against Denmark, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

In the Sunday hit between Sweden and Sweden, both teams could secure a direct promotion to the Wierfinau competition. The condition for this was to lead to extra time. For two periods, nothing indicated anything for the extra game time. They were confident 3-0 after goals from Wallmark, Bengtsson and Lander.

In the last period, however, the Finns conducted a spectacular train. For 15 minutes in the third period, they had only one goal by Hartikainen, but in the last five minutes, Pakarinen had tied two goals. What’s more, in extra time Finland followed the blow, Harri Pesonen won 4: 3 and she won Group C. However, this was no problem for the Swedes, because with seven points they secured a promotion to the top team in second place.

Group A, in turn, was won by the Americans with full points. They needed at least extra time against this, but David Quinn’s team would leave no doubt. Although it was Germany who opened the result of the match after Hager’s goal after just two minutes, the representatives of the United States ruled the ice later.

After goals from Kampfer, Knies and Smith, the team was already leading in the third period 3: 1 and although Germany struck a contact with Kuhnhackl’s goal two minutes before the end, there was not enough time to equalize. The Americans won 3: 2, taking the third victory at this tournament.

In the remaining Sunday games, China breaks 5: 0, and Slovakia 5: 2.

In the bar games, Canada will face China again, the Czech Republic will face Switzerland (in group 2: 1 after penalties). In addition, Denmark will play from the opening and Slovakia will play against Germany. All these meetings will be held on Tuesday 15 February.
