The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) will interview the entourage of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. It is reported by TASS with reference to Reuters.
Thus, WADA responded to a request from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Meanwhile, 15-year-old Valieva is preparing to compete in the individual tournament at the Beijing Olympics. The athlete held a training session and received a starting number in the short program.
On February 11, it became known that a trace of trimetazidine was found in the figure skater’s sample from December 25. The information was released by the International Testing Agency (ITA). WADA and the IOC have filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to seek a decision to overturn the removal of Valieva’s suspension from the Games.
Valieva’s dubious doping test became known on February 9. In this regard, the IOC has postponed the award ceremony following the results of the team tournament of the Olympics.
