According to her, it was not customary in the family to praise each other, but this “does not mean that she and her sister are unloved.”
“But in my whole life there was only one praise from my mother’s side. We were at the cottage. She sat in silence and suddenly said: “Tanya, what a fine fellow you are. You built with your own hands such a dacha where we all feel good.” And I remembered. And if they were often praised, it would not have stuck in my memory, ”said Tarasova.
She also remembered her father, coach Anatoly Tarasov, who put her on skates for the first time at the age of four. “I would not say that my father was proud of me. In our family, the attitude was: everyone does what he can. At the maximum. It’s just right. So why be proud? Only after the fifth victorious Olympics did he say to me: “Hello, colleague,” she recalled.
