The Russian team retained eighth place in the medal standings of the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
On February 12, the team’s piggy bank was replenished with one gold medal. Russian skiers won four by five kilometers in the relay. Yulia Stupak, Natalia Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova were the members of the team.
The Russian ski team now has six medals from the Beijing Games. In total, the national team won 13 medals of various denominations: three gold, four silver and six bronze medals.
The leader of the standings is still the German team, whose athletes won eight gold and five silver medals. In second place is the Norwegian team, which also has eight gold medals, but two less than silver ones. Athletes from the USA took the third place with five medals of the highest standard.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20. Domestic athletes compete at the Games under the auspices of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
